Great Steps Orthotics & Prosthetics mission is to enhance the lives of our patients through the use of properly designed and fit orthoses and prostheses. We understand that each patient is unique and important regardless of abilities or disabilities.
Great steps actively pursues and masters all designs, technology and principals through proper education and training of caring and qualified staff who strive to build a personal and long-term relationship with each patient. We maintain open communication with all referral sources in order to develop a team approach to care.
Great Steps will never lose sight that our existence is dependent on the trust and results that we achieve with our patients and referral sources.
Company History
In the late 1990's, John Held, Certified Orthotist, envisioned a locally owned Orthotic and Prosthetic company serving Central Minnesota that focused on quality patient care first and bottom line second. It was his belief that properly managing the complexities of his patients, treating his patients as family and maintaining proper communication and relationships with his referral sources would keep his schedule busy enough to earn a living. In 2000, Held incorporated Great Steps Orthotic & Prosthetic Solutions. The area's need for artificial limbs and their specialized care needs grew and at the end of 2000, Great Steps was joined by Dan Tysver, Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist. Within one year Great Steps grew to employ 3 practitioners and 3 office employees.
In 2006, the company outgrew its original 2000 square foot operation and moved into a new state of the art 6000 square foot facility. By 2009, Great Steps employed 7 practitioners and 10 support staff; therefore, Great Steps further expanded its operation to include 10,000 square feet of clinic and fabrication services.
Great Steps' practitioners are widely renowned for their expertise in pediatric as well as adult Orthotics and Prosthetics including orthopedic braces.
